AFIN (Asian Fintech): The Green Bitcoin Token, and What Can Still Be Verified

AFIN is a 500M-supply ERC-20 token that promised Green Bitcoin staking. What on-chain data confirms in October 2026, and what remains unverified.

AFIN (Asian Fintech) is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. It was pitched as a way to earn "Green Bitcoin", meaning bitcoin mined with renewable energy and paid to holders who staked AFIN. As of 25 October 2026, the token contract is still live on Ethereum and still records occasional transactions. However, the project's website no longer resolves. We also found no current, independent source confirming that the staking platform, the renewable-powered mining or the promised roadmap ever ran. Treat everything beyond the on-chain data below as the project's own claims.

Two points matter for anyone reading this table:

  • The circulating supply is self-reported. CoinMarketCap labels the 135M figure "self-reported". On 25 October 2026 the page also displayed a "preview page" notice, and its market data was incomplete.
  • Activity is thin. Etherscan lists 3,814 transactions for the contract. The most recent we saw was an approval call on 24 October 2026, and Etherscan's 24-hour transfer count was 1.

What AFIN said it would do

The following comes from the project's own materials as summarised in the earlier version of this page. We could not re-check it against a live primary source (see the limitations line below).

Green Bitcoin staking

  • Holders would lock AFIN for a set period and receive bitcoin in return, plus an NFT whose type depended on the amount staked.
  • The bitcoin would come from mining farms connected to grids running on renewable sources such as solar, wind and hydro.
  • The project stressed that rewards would be native bitcoin on the Bitcoin blockchain, not a wrapped or synthetic version, so recipients could trace the coins back to the mining addresses.

Roadmap (all dates now passed)

The project published a 2022 roadmap:

  • Q1 2022: green tourism redemptions and carbon credit discounts.
  • Q2 2022: EV charging rewards.
  • Q3 2022: a "sustainable community crypto mining" group.
  • Q4 2022: a play-to-earn farming game and broader sustainability initiatives.

We found no public evidence that any of these launched. A staking-data aggregator lists AFIN, but on 25 October 2026 every metric on that page was blank, including reward rate, total staked and stakers, and it showed 0 verified providers.

Which AFIN claims can you check?

Pick what you want to know about AFIN to see whether this article found it verifiable on 25 October 2026.

  1. What do you want to know about AFIN?

  2. Do you have a bitcoin payout you can trace on the Bitcoin blockchain back to a stated miner address?

You can check this on-chain

Etherscan shows an ERC-20 contract with a maximum supply of 500,000,000, 8 decimals and 737 holders. The 135M circulating supply on CoinMarketCap is self-reported by the project, so it has not been independently checked.

Treat it as unverified

We found no current, independent source showing that the staking platform or the renewable-powered mining ever ran. On the staking-data aggregator, every metric was blank and it showed 0 verified providers.

You know where the coins came from, not whether they are green

A traced payout shows which miner address the coins came from. Whether that miner used renewable power needs an independent audit, and we found no public audit for AFIN. Payouts also rely on an off-chain operator.

No public evidence it launched

All the 2022 roadmap dates, from Q1 through Q4 2022, have passed. We found no public evidence that any roadmap item launched.

This sorts claims only by what public sources showed on 25 October 2026. It cannot check the project's site, whitepaper or press release, and it does not say whether to hold or trade AFIN.

Structural problems with the model

These limits come from the design itself and apply whether or not the platform ever launched.

  • The process is not trustless. Staking happens in an Ethereum smart contract, while rewards are paid in BTC on a different chain. Someone off-chain has to connect the two, so holders depend on the operator to pay out.
  • "Green" is not a property of a coin. Bitcoin is fungible. Once coins leave the mining address, they look the same as any other bitcoin. A holder can at most check that coins came from a stated miner address. Whether that miner used renewable power needs an independent audit, and we found no public audit for AFIN.
  • The idea depends on proof-of-work. AFIN's offer only works as long as bitcoin is mined with energy. Its appeal also depends on the broader debate about mining's energy use.

What this means for a reader today

If you hold AFIN or are researching it, the reliable facts are the on-chain ones: supply, contract, holder count and recent activity. The project's website no longer resolves, the press release earlier versions linked to is gone, and the roadmap went undelivered as far as public sources show. Any claim about current staking or mining operations should be treated as unverified until the issuer publishes something you can check. This page is not investment advice.

Limitations: this page relies on on-chain data and two data aggregators. The project's site, whitepaper text and original press release could not be retrieved or read on 25 October 2026.
