On 25 October 2026, CoinGecko listed the five best-known metaverse and gaming tokens below $1. The Sandbox (SAND) traded at about $0.048, Decentraland (MANA) at $0.078, Enjin Coin (ENJ) at $0.024, GALA at $0.0017 and FLOKI at $0.0000228. FLOKI had the largest market cap of the group, about $220 million. All five are 93–99.8% below their all-time highs. A price under $1 says nothing about value. Market cap, supply and what the project is actually shipping matter more. The most important recent event in the group is The Sandbox's August 2026 bridge exploit, covered below.

The numbers on 25 October 2026
CoinGecko data, last updated 25 October 2026, 11:47 UTC:
| Token | Price (market cap) | Circulating supply | All-time high (date), below ATH |
|---|---|---|---|
| FLOKI | $0.00002284 ($220.2M) | 9.64T of 20T max | $0.00034495 (4 Jun 2024), ~93% |
| MANA | $0.0781 ($152.9M) | 1.96B | $5.85 (25 Nov 2021), ~98.7% |
| SAND | $0.0482 ($141.6M) | 2.94B of 3B max | $8.40 (24 Nov 2021), ~99.4% |
| GALA | $0.00172 ($87.4M) | 50.86B | $0.8248 (25 Nov 2021), ~99.8% |
| ENJ | $0.0245 ($49.2M) | 2.01B | $4.82 (25 Nov 2021), ~99.5% |
CoinGecko put its whole Metaverse category at about $2.14 billion in market cap on the same day.
Two things stand out:
- A low price per token doesn't mean a small project. FLOKI has the lowest price but the largest market cap, because 9.64 trillion tokens are in circulation. GALA's price is below a fifth of a cent because more than 50 billion tokens exist.
- Except for FLOKI, these all-time highs date from November 2021. Getting back to those prices would take multiples of today's entire market cap. For SAND, that would mean roughly 170 times today's market cap.
The Sandbox (SAND)
SAND is the currency of The Sandbox, a virtual world where users build, own and sell game experiences and assets. Its supply is capped at 3 billion, and about 98% of that is already circulating, so future unlocks add little dilution.
Latest development: the August 2026 bridge exploit
On 21 August 2026, an attacker exploited SAND's bridge contracts on Base and BNB Smart Chain. According to The Sandbox's post-mortem, as reported by Cointelegraph on 28 August 2026, a configuration flaw let the attacker become the only verifier of incoming bridge messages. The attacker then minted unbacked SAND on those two networks. About 14.7 million SAND was drained from an Ethereum vault. That is roughly 0.5% of the 3 billion maximum supply, worth about $700,000 at the time. Outside researchers counted far more minted tokens than the project did, and their estimates differ widely from each other.
The Sandbox said it would:
- give holders who legitimately held bridged SAND on Base or BNB Chain before the attack the same amount of Ethereum-based SAND, paid from the treasury, with no new tokens minted;
- pay nothing for the unbacked tokens the attacker created;
- permanently retire the compromised bridge contracts and use newly deployed contracts for any future Base or BNB Chain bridges.
What it means for a reader: SAND on Ethereum was reported as unaffected. Check which network any SAND you are offered sits on.
Decentraland (MANA)
Decentraland is a browser-based 3D world on Ethereum. Users own land parcels as NFTs and run the platform through a DAO. MANA is spent on LAND and in the marketplace, and it is used in DAO voting. It has no supply cap: CoinGecko lists no maximum supply, with 2.19 billion total and 1.96 billion circulating.
What to check first for your metaverse token
Pick the token you hold or are looking at, and see which risk from this article applies to it first.
Which token are you looking at?
- The Sandbox (SAND) → next question
- Decentraland (MANA) or Enjin Coin (ENJ) → Look at total supply, not just price
- GALA → Follow the new emission model
- FLOKI → Expect sentiment to drive the price
Which network is your SAND on?
- Ethereum → Ethereum SAND was reported as unaffected
- Base or BNB Smart Chain (bridged) → next question
Did you legitimately hold that bridged SAND before the 21 August 2026 attack?
- Yes, I held it before the attack → You fall under The Sandbox's compensation terms
- No, or I can't tell where it came from → Bridged SAND from after the attack may be unbacked
The exploit hit the bridge contracts on Base and BNB Smart Chain, not SAND on Ethereum. Supply is capped at 3 billion and about 98% already circulates, so unlocks add little dilution. Market cap and the August event still matter more than the price per token.
The Sandbox said holders who legitimately held bridged SAND on Base or BNB Chain before the attack get the same amount of Ethereum-based SAND, paid from the treasury, with no new tokens minted. The compromised bridge contracts are being permanently retired.
The attacker minted unbacked SAND on Base and BNB Smart Chain, and The Sandbox said it will pay nothing for those tokens. Future bridges will use newly deployed contracts, so check which network and contract any SAND you are offered sits on.
CoinGecko lists no maximum supply for MANA (2.19 billion total, 1.96 billion circulating). For uncapped tokens, check total supply and how it grows. For ENJ, infusion is a creator setting, so it supports demand only as far as creators actually use it.
The GalaChain vote of 30 April 2026 burns half of gas fees and starts emissions at a 15% rate with a 15% annual reduction and a 1.5% floor. CoinGecko shows 50.86 billion circulating, slightly above the 50 billion maximum it lists.
FLOKI has the largest market cap of the five despite the lowest price, because 9.64 trillion tokens circulate. Its price still swings with sentiment and social media more than with activity in its game, Valhalla.
This only points to the main risk the article describes for each token; it doesn't check your wallet, contract address or eligibility for compensation, and it is not investment advice.
Enjin Coin (ENJ)
ENJ is the native token of the Enjin Blockchain, built for game assets and NFTs. Its best-known feature is ENJ infusion. Enjin's documentation says creators can lock ENJ into an NFT or a multi-unit token when they create it. That ENJ "can only be retrieved when the token is burned," which Enjin calls "melting."
Infusion is a setting that creators choose. Not every Enjin NFT holds ENJ. So infusion supports demand for ENJ only as far as creators actually use it. ENJ has the smallest market cap of the five, about $49 million.
GALA (Gala Games / GalaChain)
GALA runs GalaChain, Gala's blockchain for games and other entertainment. Node operators earn rewards, and holders of Founder's Nodes can vote on proposals.
Latest development: a new emission model
On 30 April 2026, GalaChain's node-operator community approved a new emission model, as reported by eGamers on 4 May 2026:
- half of gas fees go to node operators and half are permanently burned;
- emissions start at a 15% rate with a 15% annual reduction, and rewards have a 1.5% floor.
CoinGecko lists a circulating supply of 50.86 billion, slightly above the 50 billion maximum it shows for the token.
FLOKI
FLOKI started as a meme coin and now funds a wider set of products. Its game, Valhalla, launched on mainnet on 30 June 2025, according to the project's press release. Valhalla is a browser-based play-to-earn MMORPG set in Norse mythology, with turn-based tactical combat and NFT creatures called Veras. The FLOKI treasury funds the in-game rewards.
FLOKI is the only token here whose all-time high came after 2021: $0.00034495 on 4 June 2024. Its price still swings with sentiment and social media more than with in-game activity.
How to compare these tokens before buying anything
- Compare market cap and fully diluted supply, not price. For tokens without a cap (MANA, ENJ), look at total supply and how it grows.
- Check the network. Bridged versions of a token carry the bridge's risk, as SAND showed in August 2026.
- Look for primary evidence of use. Official changelogs, governance votes and on-chain activity tell you more than price-prediction pages.
- Treat the category as small and thin. At about $2.14 billion, the whole metaverse category on CoinGecko is small enough that one event can move all of it.
- Self-custody is an option. After buying through any exchange or a decentralised exchange, you can move tokens to a non-custodial wallet. Only send to the network the token was issued on.
Prices are a snapshot from 25 October 2026, and tokens this small can move sharply within a day. This is not investment advice.
