- Truth Terminal: An AI agent on X called Truth Terminal then endorsed and promoted it. The agent was built by Andy Ayrey and is fine-tuned from Meta's Llama 3.1.
- Ayrey on the launch: He said the bot did not create the token: "It didn't actually make it. Someone else did and tagged [Terminal of Truths], which then endorsed it."
- The 2024 grant: In July 2024, venture capitalist Marc Andreessen gave the agent $50,000 worth of bitcoin.
- Early surge: Decrypt reported that GOAT rose more than 8,000% in less than a week.
