Samsung said on Oct. 7, 2026 that Samsung Wallet will let eligible U.S. Galaxy users hold and send USDC, starting in the last week of October. A day later, on Oct. 8, the Sui Foundation said Samsung Wallet had selected Sui as a blockchain infrastructure partner for the feature. Samsung's release names Solana and Sui as network partners. USDC is the only supported asset at launch, and the SUI token is not supported in Samsung Wallet.

What Samsung announced on Oct. 7
According to Samsung's U.S. newsroom release:
- Launch window: stablecoin functionality arrives in Samsung Wallet "starting in the last week of October" 2026.
- Who can use it: eligible U.S. residents aged 18 or older, with a Samsung Account, on Galaxy devices compatible with Samsung Wallet running Android 13 or higher. Account registration, identity verification and biometric setup are required.
- Reach: Samsung counts 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the U.S. That is a device count, not a count of users who will sign up.
- What users can do: send USDC to compatible third-party crypto wallets, and send money to qualifying bank accounts in more than 60 countries, where recipients receive local currency. The app also lists a "Buy Stablecoin" option with USDC as the default.
- Fees: Samsung says it charges no fee for USDC transfers to external wallets; the receiving provider may charge its own. Bank transfers carry fees that vary by country and amount and are shown in the app before confirmation.
- Custody: Samsung says it is not a bank, money transmitter or digital asset custodian and does not hold customer funds. Bastion, which Samsung describes as a licensed stablecoin custodian overseen by U.S. regulators, runs the payment framework, with a sub-custodian holding the USDC.
What Sui added on Oct. 8
Sui's announcement focuses on the network side. It says USDC moved in Samsung Wallet will use Sui's gasless stablecoin transfers, which went live on Sui Mainnet in May 2026. Under that feature, a USDC transfer costs $0.00 at the network level and the sender does not need to hold SUI for gas. Sui gives no separate launch date; it says the rollout starts in the U.S. and will later expand to other markets.
Sui also says it has processed more than $1 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume since August 2025. That is network-wide activity, not Samsung Wallet usage.
