On 25 October 2026 at 13:06 UTC, CoinGecko showed Shiba Inu (SHIB) at $0.00000486. At that price its market capitalisation was about $2.86 billion, which ranked SHIB 36th by market cap. SHIB was down 1.4% over 24 hours, 17.8% over 30 days and 52.2% over the past year. That left it about 94% below its all-time high of $0.00008616, set on 27 October 2021. About 589 trillion tokens are in circulation, so even a large change in market cap moves the price only a little.

Where SHIB stands this week
- Price: $0.00000486 (CoinGecko, 25 October 2026, 13:06 UTC).
- Market cap: about $2.86 billion. Rank: 36.
- Circulating supply: about 589.24 trillion SHIB (CoinGecko). Shibburn gives a lower figure, 585.6 trillion, because the two trackers count supply differently.
- All-time high: $0.00008616 on 27 October 2021 (CoinGecko).
- Holders: 1,698,490 addresses hold the token on Ethereum (Etherscan, 25 October 2026).
What changed in October 2026
- Shibarium activity fell. U.Today reported on 18 October that daily transactions on Shibarium, the Shiba Inu layer-2 network, fell to 659 on 17 October. The figure came from the Shibariumscan explorer.
- Exchange balances barely moved. U.Today reported on 17 October that exchange wallets held about 87.06 trillion SHIB, down 0.1% in 24 hours. The chart it linked to was from CryptoQuant. That is about 15% of circulating supply sitting where it can be sold quickly.
An ETF filing that names SHIB
T. Rowe Price filed a Form S-1 with the SEC on 22 October 2025 for the T. Rowe Price Active Crypto ETF. The filing lists Shiba Inu as one of 14 named "Eligible Assets". It says the fund is expected to hold "between five and fifteen" crypto assets. Being eligible does not mean the fund will hold SHIB.
What Shiba Inu is
Shiba Inu was launched in August 2020 as a token on Ethereum by an anonymous person or group using the name "Ryoshi". It was marketed as a rival to Dogecoin, and Fortune called it the "Dogecoin killer". In May 2021, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin sent more than 50 trillion SHIB, then worth over $1 billion, to the India COVID-Crypto Relief Fund.
The ecosystem around the token includes:
- Shibarium, a layer-2 network. Its mainnet went live on 16 August 2023 and was paused almost at once. The team blamed a "massive influx of transactions". The Block reported on 28 August 2023 that bridge withdrawals had reopened.
- BONE, the gas and governance token on Shibarium.
- LEASH, a second ecosystem token.
In September 2025, an attacker hit the Shibarium bridge with a flash loan. They borrowed about 4.6 million BONE and appear to have gained control of 10 of the 12 validator signing keys. The Block reported that about $2.4 million was drained, including about 224.57 ETH and 92.6 billion SHIB. Forklog put the loss at about $2.3 million. Developers responded by pausing staking and unstaking.
What market cap would your SHIB price need?
Enter a SHIB price and a circulating supply to see the market cap that price would imply.
| SHIB price you want to test | Circulating supply | Implied market cap |
|---|---|---|
| 0.00001 $ | 589.24 trillion SHIB | 5.89 $ billion |
| 0.00000486 $ | 589.24 trillion SHIB | 2.86 $ billion |
| 0.00008616 $ | 589.24 trillion SHIB | 50.77 $ billion |
| 1 $ | 589.24 trillion SHIB | 589,240 $ billion |
| 0.00000486 $ | 585.6 trillion SHIB | 2.85 $ billion |
- The price is your own input. A result is arithmetic on that price, not a prediction that SHIB will reach it.
- The default supply is CoinGecko's 25 October 2026 figure. The price on that day was $0.00000486, about $2.86 billion in market cap.
This multiplies price by supply and nothing more. It cannot say whether demand could ever support a given market cap, and it leaves out future burns, token unlocks and how the price moves after 25 October 2026.
Supply and burns: what the numbers say
Etherscan lists the token's maximum total supply as about 999.98 trillion SHIB. Burning tokens means sending them to an address nobody can spend from. Figures from Shibburn, a burn tracker:
- Total burned: 410,845,049,485,800 SHIB, about 41% of the original quadrillion. Most of it was burned early in the token's history.
- Burned in the last 7 days: 30,394,792 SHIB.
- Burned in the last 24 hours: 4,203,225 SHIB.
At $0.00000486, the past week's burn was worth about $148. Against Shibburn's 585.6 trillion circulating tokens, that is about 0.000005% of supply per week. At that rate, burns barely change the supply and have no meaningful effect on price. Shibarium's fee burn was designed to burn more tokens as network use grew. With daily transactions in the hundreds, the burn has stayed small.
What common price targets would require
Multiplying the price by the circulating supply (about 589.24 trillion, CoinGecko) gives the market cap each price implies:
| SHIB price | Implied market cap | Change from $0.00000486 |
|---|---|---|
| $0.00000486 (25 Oct 2026) | about $2.86 billion | — |
| $0.00001 | about $5.9 billion | about 2.1x |
| $0.00008616 (all-time high) | about $50.8 billion | about 17.7x |
| $0.0001 | about $58.9 billion | about 20.6x |
| $0.001 | about $589 billion | about 206x |
| $1 | about $589 trillion | about 205,800x |
At $1, SHIB would need a market cap of about $589 trillion. Unless almost the entire supply were burned, that is not a realistic outcome. Year-by-year forecasts from algorithmic sites are the output of models and are not evidence of where the price will go.
What to watch
- Shibarium transactions and burns. Shibariumscan and Shibburn publish these figures daily. A lasting rise in both would be the first sign that the fee burn is working.
- Exchange balances. CryptoQuant publishes SHIB exchange flows. Rising balances mean more supply ready to sell, and falling balances mean less.
- The T. Rowe Price ETF. The fund's status and any holdings it discloses will appear in SEC filings on EDGAR.
- Bridge security. The September 2025 exploit showed that control of the validator keys is a weak point. Changes to the validator set or the signing process will affect confidence in Shibarium.
