PYR is the token of Vulcan Forged, a group of blockchain games and apps whose flagship game is VulcanVerse. The project's documentation says PYR is mainly the currency of its marketplace. It is also staked to level up land and Gods (in-game NFTs) and to earn from a reward pool. The most recent change came on July 22, 2026, when Vulcan Forged said it was "opening routes for all users to unstake their PYR." It also said any relaunch would depend on a new team and new funding. The staking mechanics below are what the documentation describes. They are not proof that these features still run today.

Latest: unstaking and an uncertain relaunch (July–August 2026)
- July 22, 2026: In a post on X, carried by TradingView/Coindar, Vulcan Forged said it was "opening routes for all users to unstake their PYR." It said that "due to the high demand this will be done as fast as we can," with updates on X and Discord.
- Relaunch undecided: The same post began, "As mentioned by the CEO, if we relaunch, with a new team, fresh funding and leaner system, only…" EGamers (Aug. 4, 2026) reported that the team called the relaunch decision "ambiguous for now."
- Exchange access: EGamers reported that a major centralised exchange removed PYR from spot trading at 03:00 UTC on Aug. 17, 2026. That exchange had put a monitoring tag on the token on July 3, 2026.
What PYR is
The documentation calls PYR "an ERC-20 / Matic compatible token." It says the token uses a Layer 2 solution built with Polygon (formerly Matic), so fees are "next to zero." Next to zero is not zero. CoinGecko lists the same contract address, 0x430ef9263e76dae63c84292c3409d61c598e9682, on Ethereum and Polygon PoS. It gives a maximum supply of 50 million PYR and a circulating supply of about 31 million.
Documented uses
The documentation calls the marketplace the primary use and lists these utilities:
- Buying and selling in the Vulcan Forged marketplace
- Staking in land plots, Titans or Olympians
- Staking and farming on the project's own swap platform
- Holding PYR to become a dApp in the marketplace
- Earning PYR by playing
- Staking to join the philosopher's counsel
To trade in the marketplace, PYR must first move from the "Main Wallet" to the "Market Wallet."

These are the project's own figures, and they do not show whether any of them is live today.
The staking reward pool
According to the documentation:
- The Vulcan Foundation funds the pool with 10 million initial PYR, released over 48 months. The page gives no start date, so the release schedule cannot be dated.
- Fees are split equally between the pool and another allocation. That puts 50% of marketplace transaction fees into the pool, plus 10% of direct asset sale fees, 50% of land, Titan and Olympian upgrade fees, and 10% of Frenzy prize-pool and tournament fees.
- Upgraded land earns monthly PYR rewards. The amount depends on how many lands a holder has and their levels, compared with all other lands in VulcanVerse.
Levelling up land and Gods
Fee plus deposit
Each level up to level 7 costs a PYR fee plus a PYR deposit staked on the land or God. The documentation says: "The fee is non-refundable but the staked coins can be removed at any time." Removing stake drops the asset to the level its remaining PYR supports. The page's example is a fall from level 4 to level 2.
The land-staking page adds that staking starts at level 2 and that land has to be sown first. Sowing is a one-time fee, and a 20-day wait follows before the first upgrade.
What a God level-up changes
- Each level raises the owner's share of the monthly reward pool by 10%. The documentation's example is 100 PYR becoming 110 PYR, a relative increase, not ten percentage points.
- Each level adds 10% to the PYR share of LAVA won in Vulcan Forged games.
- Marketplace seller fees for the God fall as its level rises, reaching 0% at level 7.
- A level 7 God gives access to Elysium, an area of VulcanVerse where vulcanite is used to forage for rare NFTs from the Vaults of Vulcan.
The practical trade-off
The fee is gone once paid, but the deposit can be withdrawn. Withdrawing it, including during the July 2026 unstaking, lowers the asset's level and with it any level-linked reward share. Since July 2026 the open questions are whether the reward pool and level benefits still pay out at all, and in what form.
What to check before relying on any of this
- Vulcan Forged's official X and Discord channels for the status of unstaking and any relaunch decision.
- Whether the marketplace, VulcanVerse and Elysium are live.
- Which networks still have active PYR markets. CoinGecko flags several listings as anomalies and some pools as inactive.
